Retrogaming at 50th BieberLAN
On Saturday morning at 8:30 a.m., we began setting up in the still quiet Frankfurt ice sports arena — many LAN attendees were still enjoying their well-deserved sleep.
At 11:00 a.m., our Tekken 3 tournament kicked off on two PlayStation 1 consoles and ran until 4:00 p.m. With 12 participants, the response to our first self-organized tournament was fantastic! Congratulations to the winners and a huge thank you to all participants for the great turnout.
During the waiting periods between matches, our booth was well-attended — many LAN participants took the opportunity to check out the MEGA65 and the legendary “Tennis for Two” from 1958.
A special highlight developed spontaneously: In collaboration with TotalVerbuggt!, a Super Smash Bros. Melee tournament was organized on short notice – we provided the projector and screen, and Patrick from TotalVerbuggt! brought the GameCube. Many thanks to all participants and especially to Patrick for his spontaneity!
